Equine Dentistry
Routine dentistry is important to maintain the health and function of your horse’s mouth. Even the smallest issue can have a detrimental effect on performance.
Shanaghan Veterinary Services equine dental care begins with prevention. Problems are better identified at routine dental appointments well in advance of symptom development, significantly reducing serious effects and meaning less invasive treatment required at the later stage.
Horses are able to cope with many underlying and developing dental problems due to their ability to adjust their eating pattern to disguise discomfort. But this is not sustainable in maintaining health in the long term.
Routine dental visits every 6 to 12 months ensures your horse has their mouth and teeth examined thoroughly for developing dental problems and pathology. Many minor dental problems can be addressed immediately.
